Bulk Update Active Directory Group Properties
Description
Section titled “Description”The Active directory group update tool is designed to efficiently modify group properties using structured data from CSV files, the tool updates key Active Directory group attributes—such as group name, description, email address, and scope. This tool significantly reduces the time and manual effort required for group administration, providing IT teams with a consistent, reliable, and repeatable method for managing group properties and memberships.

- Change multiple group properties at once such as description, managed by, mail, target address and proxyaddresses
How to Update Group Properties
Section titled “How to Update Group Properties”Step 1. Click on “Update Groups”
Step 2. Click on “Udate Group Properties” then click on “Download CSV Template”
Step 3. Modify the csv template with groups and details you want to update
The template includes the follow columns:
- sAMAccountName
- The name of the group
- description
- The description field
- managedBy
- Set a user to manage the group. Must be the users distinguishedName
- mail
- Set the mail property
- targetAddress
- Set the targetAddress property
- groupType
- Change group type to Security or Distribution
- proxyAddresses
- Update proxyAddresses property

Step 4. Select your CSV file and click “Run”
